SIT returned empty handed from Dera Sacha Sauda

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the police probing the sacrilege of Sri Guru Granth Sahib in Punjab has returned empty handed from Dera Sacha Sauda in Sirsa. The SIT could not find Dera Chairperson Vipassana Insan and Senior Vice Chairman Dr. PR Nain there. However, the rest of the members of the Management Committee assured that both themselves would appear before the SIT in the next few days.

Led by IG SPS Parmar of Punjab Police, a team comprising SSP Mukhwinder Singh Bhullar and 2 other officers had gone there to inquire. Along with the team of Punjab Police, Sirsa SP Arpit Jain also took the local police along. On behalf of the dera also the panel led by the lawyers was present in the dera

Chairperson Vipassana and Vice Chairman PR Nain were not found; The committee gave the assurance of presenting itsel.

Earlier, both of them were called by the SIT to Ludhiana for questioning, but they did not come citing health reasons. SIT has summoned him 3 times

Ram Rahim had put the responsibility on the managers

A few days ago, SIT had questioned Baba Ram Rahim in Rohtak’s Sunaria jail in the sacrilege case in Burj Jawahar Singh Wala village of Faridkot. 114 questions were asked from Ram Rahim. In these, Ram Rahim had put the responsibility on the management committee regarding the entire work including the income of the dera, property, exchange of old currency during demonetisation.

Ram Rahim had said that he is limited to doing satsang only. From the maintenance of the rest of the camp to the management committee, all the accounts are looked after. After this the SIT had called the Dera managers for questioning.

The first dishonesty came to the fore

The case of theft of Sri Guru Granth Sahib from Burj Jawahar Singh Wala dates back to July 1, 2015. The holy form of Guru Granth Sahib was stolen from the Gurdwara of village Burj Jawahar Singhwala, located 5 km from Bargadi in Faridkot district. After this, on 24 September 2015, two hand-written posters were found near the Gurudwara in Bargadi. It is alleged that abusive language was used in these posters written in Punjabi language and Dera Sacha Sauda’s hand was also written in the theft of holy forms. On 12 October 2015, parts of the holy form were found scattered in the streets of Burj Jawahar Singhwala.

Then 2 people died in firing

After this, on October 14, two people were killed in firing by the police during the removal of a dharna sangat in village Bahbalkalan of Faridkot. On the same day, the police lathi-charged and fired upon the people of the Sikh community sitting on a sit-in in Kotkapura.

3 SITs including CBI have been investigated
In the year 2015, the matter of sacrilege heated up and it became the biggest issue in the 2017 Punjab Assembly elections. So far, apart from the CBI, two SITs and a commission of Punjab Police have been done to investigate this matter, but the names of the real culprits who did the sacrilege have not been revealed.

Now the Punjab government’s SIT had sought a production warrant for Ram Rahim for the first time in this case, but the High Court ordered him to go to jail for interrogation
