Road accident in Haryana's Jind: A private bus full of laborers going to Punjab hit a tree on the roadside; Two killed, 16 seriously injured

A bus accident took place on the Delhi-Patiala Highway in Jind district of Haryana at around 5.30 am on Wednesday. The bus full of laborers got down on the roadside and hit the tree. Two laborers died in the accident, while about 16 laborers are injured. Those who have been taken to the civil hospital for treatment.
Two laborers have been referred to PGI Rohtak as their condition is critical. The injured laborers called the number 100 and informed the police about the accident. DSP Sadhuram, Naib Tehsildar Virendra Kumar reached the spot as soon as he got information about the accident. It was the police who sent the injured for treatment.
74 laborers including the driver were coming in a private bus from Gidrahi and Kataiyya villages of Kesupaul district of Bihar. They were being taken to Saina village in Barnala district of Punjab for paddy transplantation. Some workers were sitting on top of the bus. But the control of the bus was lost near the village Belarkha.
The bus landed on the side of the road and collided with a tree, due to which the laborers sitting on the roof jumped down and died, 38-year-old Suresh Mandal of Gidrahi village and 48-year-old Ganesh Singh, resident of village Katiya. On the basis of the statements of the deceased Suresh’s brother Dinesh, the police registered a case and started action.
