International Women’s Day 2021: March 8 is celebrated as International Women’s Day all over the world. The reason behind celebrating this day is to give women the respect they deserve. Today women all over the world are walking step by step with men. Many countries including India have also created many legal rights for women (mahilaon ke kanuni adhikar in hindi) but even today there are many women who are not even aware of these women’s rights. Legal right to equal pay– Like men, women also have the right to equal pay at the workplace. According to Indian labor law, if you work at any place, then you cannot be discriminated against on the basis of gender in salary.
Protection from domestic violence – This right has been made to prevent violence against women. Under this, if there is any violence with a woman at her house, in-laws, then she can file a case against it.
Maternity Rights– Under this right, whenever a woman becomes pregnant, she has the right to take a leave of 26 weeks. During this period, there will be no deduction in the salary of the woman. And she can start working again.
Right not to be arrested at night- Under this law, no policeman can arrest any woman after the sun sets. For this, the policemen will have to wait for the sun to rise.
